For Immediate Release...

In a break with the traditional CD release party, THE ELECTROLUX COMBO will instead host a "sell-out celebration" after selling all copies of their first release, "BEAT PARTY!".

Brian Worobey, saxophone player for the band, asked, "why celebrate when you're sitting on boxes of CDs that may take a long time to sell? Release parties are usually just a way to push product. We'd rather throw a party to thank people after the CDs are sold."

The 14 instrumental tracks on "BEAT PARTY!" are culled from the band's extensive setlist and includes covers of "The Rise and Fall of Flingel Bunt" by THE SHADOWS and "Drums A-Go-Go" from the LAS VEGAS GRIND compilations. Recorded live in the studio, it is a party album that shifts from R&B movers to surf stomps and on to fuzz-infused twists.

THE ELECTROLUX COMBO plays raucous sax and organ-driven instros inspired by the R&B, surf and strip combos of the late 50s/early 60s, with nods to THE FABULOUS WAILERS, THE MAR-KEYS, FREDDIE KING and a slew of one-hit wonders. Their song titles invariably contain at least one of the following words: Twist, Twine, Monkey, A-Go-Go. Think of King Curtis, Booker T. and Link Wray in a three-car pileup in Vegas. THE ELECTROLUX COMBO is Brian Worobey (sax), Mike Michaud (guitar/keys), Pete Sutton (bass) and Dave DeSimone (drums). www.electroluxcombo.com electroluxcombo@yahoo.com
